Technology

EB in competition – a challenge.
In recent years the relationship between customers and suppliers has changed in such a sense that a far-reaching discussion about new materials has come up. Both our pool of ideas and our flexibility are of interest not only due to world-wide over-capacities and most unstable economic data.

Challenges and its basics.
We are facing the increasing complexity of cylinder blocks and the growing dynamics in the automotive industry by having a clear strategic position in all our foundries and by consequently focussing on our core competences.
Our production performance builds the basis for a successful business by

  • consequently automating our production areas and installing improved processes with best technological investment in view of its cost / benefit ratio
  • constantly optimizing our technology and production conditions
  • state of the art technology
  • installation and utilization of the latest CAx-technologies and systems
  • utilization of FE-calculation and simulation technologies and
  • further development of cast-iron materials

Our way to success:
Leadership in technology is one of our first and most important business targets. Our production facilities are highly automated, technologically updated and adjusted to the constantly changing production requirements of our customers.

We constantly control, plan and adapt our production facilities and guarantee the high output of the single production facilities (machines). A clear organisational structure in our production area rules responsibilities in constitutional maintenance. Production process development focusses on continuous improvements to have a better image and to demonstrate a modern attitude in public.
At the same time we have achieved a higher stability in our process as well as more efficiency at competitive cost by improving process automation, "near to netshape", reasonable consumption of material and energy and "value added and co-operation"

To transform material data into design requires that cast-iron material and production procedures are closely connected. Material and design have to be brought together and – what is even more important – at the same time we have to secure its characteristics in a stable production process.

It is our main task to be in a constant dialogue with our customers and to identify and define the problems their products might have, to come to solutions and to give evidence of core competence with a maximum stability in quality.

We efficiently apply IT-means and methods like process, product and geometry data pool of all current CAx techniques and systems which we combine in "Simultaneous Engineering" to an uninterrupted instrument to our customers.

We improve our castings with the help of simulation results from numerical-models for a perfectly detailed product description and its local material characteristics.
The calculation methods are being verified at the casting itself and we confirm the statements made to the local material behaviour when applied. This will lead to more R&D orders and to transforming development results in innovative cast iron engine blocks designed for the world market.
